We will also need parent (grandparent/auntie/uncle etc) supervisors for our trip to the Adams River salmon run on Wednesday Oct. 22. As we will be by the water and there are sure to be many people, including other classes there as well, the more adults that can help the better. Unfortunately, there will be no room on the bus as it will be crammed with more than 60 small children so you would have to provide your own transportation. (Although if you think about it for a minute, do you really want to spend 2 hours on a bus with 60-some small, excited, loud bodies?) As of yet we do not have a firm itinerary but in general the day will be spent walking and exploring the trails and seeing the salmon (dead and alive), We look forward to having you join us!
A few parents have offered to help with our trip Friday to Tranquille Farms. Meeting us at Tranquille Farms after dropping your child off at school is the best option and there is plenty of parking there. The children will be sorted into groups, depending on how many adults there are, and although we will stick together as a class, it would make things ever so much easier for me if the parent helpers would keep an eye on a group. We will move through four stations during the day, with a snack and recess break. There should also be time for the corn maze. If you are taking your child with you at the end of the day, rather than sending them back to school on the bus, please do not leave before letting me know. If you would like to join us, please notify me and we would love to have you! (Just showing up is good too.) Parent supervisors are free but children will be $5.00.
