A Safe Return to School in January 2022

Under a revised order from the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), the return to school after the holidays is changed so that:

• Public and independent schools can implement enhanced safety measures for safe in-person learning
• Public health can learn more about the Omicron variant in our communities and ensure the right measures are in place to keep students and staff safe

Teachers will return the first week of January. Students will return January 10. Some students can return earlier. School districts will contact parents to arrange a return to school for:

• Students whose parents work in the health care system
• Students with exceptional needs
