- Don't forget to send library books back for exchange by Tuesday. Just take them out of the special library book bag and drop them (with the bag) into the labelled container inside our classroom door.
- Lunch orders for October were due to the office Sept 25. PAC pizza lunch orders were due today with lunch served Friday, Oct. 4.
- Scholastic book orders are due Friday, Oct. 4. You can order a FREE Book (worth $7 or less) when you place an online order of $30 or more. Use the code CLIFFORD.
- Our first Fresh Air Friday is Friday, Oct. 4. We are not sure if there will actually be a beach with all the rain so we might just practice how to walk safely beside the road. Please dress your child warmly/ for the weather as it is often chillier down at the river. Expect us to come back tired and dirty but with big smiles.
- Monday, Oct. 7 we will have our first lock down drill and WITS session with Cst. Weidenman.
- I will be absent Wednesday, Oct. 9 through to Friday, Oct. 11. There will be a substitute teacher which means things will run a bit differently and the children might be anxious or discombobulated but I expect they will rise to the occasion.
- Friday, Oct. 11 is Rivers Day and all of BEST will be attending presentations down at the river (hopefully). Further info is forthcoming.
- We read our first two little books together- "Chester Loves School" last week and "My book of P" this week. The children should know them by heart. Their homework is to read them 3 more times at home for fluency (and to show off their budding reading skills). Please have them read any little paper books that come home (approximately 1 per week) multiple times for practice. Thank you.
- The first set of sight words were introduced this week. They are: I, a, like, the, you, no. Please feel free to practice them at home. We will practice them regularly in class.
- Please send Family Projects back as they are finished. Look for October's next week.
- The BEST PAC first fundraiser- coupon books- was due in to the office. Thank you for your support.
- School supplies fees can be paid at the office.
- Please do not send toys from home to school. They often get lost or broken and then copious amounts of crying ensues. And more crying, followed by yet more crying.
- BEST PAC would like to host a Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday, Nov. 12 and is looking for parents who would like to rent a table. They will be giving vendors/crafters who attended the last year first spots then opening up Tuesday October 15 to the public. - It is chilly when we go out for recess so please remember to send sweaters/ coats.
- Lost sweaters/ coats can be found in the Lost & Found bin by the parking lot doors.
