At BEST we have Spirit Assemblies at the end of every month, each with a theme from the school behaviour matrix that the school will be working on for the next month, and classes sign up in the fall to present. Mrs. Farber and I signed our classes up for the end of April and the theme was Safety. As we are a technology school we thought that making a video with the children to show the other students would be a good way to go. We brainstormed some ways to be safe, we acted out the right and wrong ways to be safe and we cobbled it all together to make this video, which was shared on Wednesday at the assembly. All of the Kindergarteners were very excited to have the rest of the student body see them on "TV" and proud of being able to teach the older grades how to behave safely while at school.
We also celebrated our speed stacking kids at this assembly and Everett was asked if he would like to perform for the school. He was very enthusiastic and not a bit nervous and I put together a little video of him as well to share with you.
