PARADE THEME: Power of Community This year we are doing things little differently by having a Parade at dusk. The Santa Claus Parade is an annual tradition that attracts over 10,000 people from Kamloops and the surrounding communities. This year the parade will dazzle the crowds with 50 beautifully decorated floats.
The parade is a free event, although spectators are encouraged this year to participate by bringing reusable mugs and bags for giveaways. We will also have Zero Waste stations with volunteers to inform parade attendees on how to use them properly. This would not be possible without the TRU Sustainability Office.
Schedule of Events:
3:15 PM – Welcome Santa at Kamloops Square
4:00 PM – Parade Begins
6:15 PM – Christmas Tree Light at St. Andrews on the Square in partnership with Big Bear Society (Bright Lights for Children & Youth)
ROUTE: Parade starts in Downtown Kamloops at 2nd Ave & St. Paul Street, runs down 2nd Avenue to Victoria Street and along Victoria Street ending at 6th Avenue.
**Please note: There are NO spectators allowed in the 600 block of Victoria Street, Santa stops at 6th Ave and turns left**
