The largest recording of O Canada ever produced, featuring your students singing with students across Canada, is ready to share with the world. We encourage your school to download, play and share your students’ historic recording with pride. Congratulations go to all students at your school for singing on this historic recording. We submitted the recording and your school’s name to Guinness. Hopefully the world record is approved and your students will have even more to be proud of.
As a non-profit dedicated to building young minds and communities through the power of music we were honoured to bring the Flag of Canada Hometown Proud program to 28,725 students across Canada.
Thank you goes to teachers for helping students prepare for our visit by using the Flag of Canada lesson plans, helping students submit their artwork and of course for helping students learn and practice O Canada.
Thank you as well to the schools who encouraged students to share what they learned about the Flag of Canada and how it’s connected to their hometowns for the documentary footage we gathered. We were able to fit almost an hour of documentary highlights in the commemorative E-Book, helping students learn about the Flag of Canada for generations to come.
You will find a free copy of O Canada and the commemorative E-Book featuring your school’s name at www.FlagofCanada.ca. It’s also available on iBook. Please share it with all your school’s families and encourage them to download their free copies as keepsakes. The book can also be shared on many social media platforms by clicking the “Share” button.
I would also like to thank you, the custodians and all staff at your school for making this project such a huge success. We were thrilled to see so many students wearing red & white, hearing so many amazing singing voices and hearing all the things they learned about our flag.
It truly was a great way to celebrate and commemorate the 50th anniversary of our flag.
On behalf of all of us at Hometown Music, please let all your students know we’re very proud of what they achieved.
Best regards,
Rob.
