There were squeals of delight and excitement last Thursday morning as the children checked their leprechaun traps and discovered tiny gold hand prints spread around their traps and our classroom. But alas, no leprechauns. As we looked around we discovered the smartypants had messed up the calendar, threw our name cards on the floor and had a camp out, complete with tea and snacks, a fire and roasted marshmallows. He had also tried to hide some of our shiny necklaces under his pillow- no doubt he had plans to come back for them later. Cheeky cheeky fellow. We resolved to catch him that night. To that end, we again shared how our traps were supposed to work, why we thought they didn't, and how we could improve them and this afternoon we spent some time upgrading our designs. Some of us made totally new traps. Bigger and better traps. And we were sneakier when setting them up- we hid them in places the unsuspecting leprechaun was sure to go based on where he went last night. Our fingers were crossed that we would be luckier that evening than we were the previous one. May the luck of the Irish be with us! Comments are closed.
