- Please return skating permission forms ASAP as we would like to have them all returned before the holidays. Let us know if you need a new one. Thank you.
- Monday is our library day. Please send your child's book in its special bag so we can get a new one. All library books are to be returned for Monday, Dec. 16 and new ones will not come home over the holiday.
- Thank you for your donations to our class basket. Tickets are on sale for the raffle on Dec. 19. PAC will choose the winning tickets shortly after the evening concert. Good luck!
- Our Sharing project for January came home (I am different because) this week. Please return it for Friday Jan. 10 or whenever it is completed. Have fun!
- BEST will participate in the Salvation Army Food Drive Dec. 4-12. Thank you in advance for your donations.
- PAC January lunch orders went home and are due to be returned by Friday, Dec. 13. Lunch is served Friday, Jan. 17.
- Friday, Dec. 13 BEST will be sending progress reports home. Look for them in zipper bags and contact us if you have any questions. Please keep the report and sign and return the brown envelope to be reused.
- Friday, Dec. 13 BEST PAC will host a Movie Night with a Christmas theme. Posters have more information.
- Friday, Dec. 13 is Red & Green Day at BEST. Your child is welcome to participate or not.
- Tuesday, Dec. 17 BEST will provide a school-wide breakfast. Please inform us if your child requires a gluten free option.
- BEST will have a dress rehearsal of our Winter Concert Wednesday, Dec. 18. We will be performing on stage in front of the school and then staying in the gym to watch the other classes perform. Costumes are not necessary.
- BEST will host 2 concerts on Thursday, Dec. 19. One at 1:30pm and one at 5:30pm. They will be dismissed at 2:41 as per usual. School doors open at 5:00. Please have your child in our classrooms no sooner than 5:15pm and no later than 5:25pm Thursday evening (the classroom doors will be closed before 5:15). The children will stay in our classroom during the evening performance until you come to pick them up. If your child will not be attending the evening event, please let us know ASAP so we can make changes as needed.
- Friday, Dec. 20 is PJ Day and we will be participating in Christmas activities.
- Christmas gift idea? We have scheduled skating sessions in January. If your child does not have skates they are welcome to borrow them from the school but the sizes might be off and they are a kijillion years old so not terribly warm nor comfortable. This is a good time to start looking in secondhand shops for something suitable as the school books skating time for all classes most every year.
- Some of the children's hands are becoming chapped and sore. Please apply lotion at home often to help combat dryness.
- Please consider mittens instead of gloves for warmth and ease of use. Thank you!
- It is 'zipped up' coat and mitten/ glove season. Please practice with them at home.
- Please remember to label all outdoor items as best you can.
- Scholastic flyers are available here. All Scholastic orders can be done online whenever you like. Our class code is RC210022.
- Please have Team Awesome read any little paper books that come home (approximately 1 per week) multiple times for practice/ fluency. Thank you.
- Sight words we are learning in class: but, friend, give, good, in, look, up, see, want. Please feel free to practice together at home.
- Newsletters are paperless and can be found on the BEST website at best.sd73.bc.ca.
- If your child is exhibiting illness symptoms of any kind they must be kept home. Thank you.
