- Please return library books in their special bag by next Monday. We will not be taking new books home over the holidays.
- Thank you for your contributions to the Salvation Army food drive.
- BEST will host some spirit days next week. Your child is welcome to participate or not, as you wish. Monday is Red/Green Day, Tuesday is Sweater Day, Wednesday is Hat Day and Friday is PJ Day.
- BEST will have a dress rehearsal of our Winter Concert Wednesday, Dec. 14. We will be performing on stage in front of the school and then staying in the gym to watch the other classes perform. Costumes are not necessary.
- Thank you for your donations to our class basket. All of the baskets will be raffled off Thursday, Dec. 15. Good luck!
- PAC will be selling baked goods, 50/50 and raffle basket tickets on Thursday, Dec. 15th. These items will be available for purchase in the library from 12:30pm right through to the evening concert.
- The Cookie Dough/ Cheesecake order pick up is on Dec. 15. Yum!
- BEST will host 2 concerts on Thursday, Dec. 15. One at 1:00pm and one at 6:00pm. They will be dismissed at 2:41 as per usual. School doors open at 5:30. Please have your child in our classrooms no sooner than 5:45pm and no later than 5:55pm Thursday evening (the classroom doors will be closed before 5:45). The children will stay in our classroom during the evening performance until you come to pick them up. If your child will not be attending the evening event, please let us know ASAP so we can make changes as needed.
- We will be looking for small-ish uneaten candies the week of Dec. 16 for an activity. If you have Halloween leftovers you would be willing to donate, we will accept them gladly. Thank you!
- Christmas gift idea? We have scheduled two skating sessions- Wednesday, Jan. 18 & 25. If your child does not have skates they are welcome to borrow them from the school but the sizes might be off and they are a kijillion years old so not terribly warm or comfortable. This is a good time to start looking in secondhand shops for something suitable as the school books skating time for all classes most every year.
- For parents who have children entering Kindergarten, join SD 73 in January and February to learn more about schools of choice and registration in Kindergarten. Read more here.
- Please have Team Awesome read any little paper books that come home (approximately 1 per week) multiple times for practice/ fluency. Thank you.
- Sight words we are learning right now: but, friend, give, good, in, look, up, see, want. Please feel free to practice at home.
- Scholastic flyers are available here monthly. They are done online and sent directly to your home. Our class code is RC210022.
- Newsletters can be found on the BEST website at best.sd73.bc.ca.
- If your child is exhibiting illness symptoms of any kind they must be kept home. Thank you.
