- As usual, library books are due back for exchange by next Tuesday.
- There are no Family Projects for March due to the holiday but April's will come in March.

- Popcorn Day! Monday, Feb 25.
- Tuesday, Feb. 26 is Crazy Hair Day!
- Wednesday, Feb. 27 is Pink Shirt Day and students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt in support of the anti-bullying message. We often have an assembly on that day. Rather than focus on the 'anti-bullying' message which can be misinterpreted by small children, Team Awesome will be celebrating 'Kindness Week' and focusing on ways we can be kind.
- PAC is sponsoring a pizza day on Thursday Mar. 7. Orders are due to the office by Thursday, Feb. 28.
- Friday Mar. 1 is a Pro D day and the children will have a long weekend while I learn how to be a better teacher.
- Thursday, March 7 is the PAC sponsored pizza lunch.
- Friday, March 8 we will be joining Mrs. Farber's Friends for the morning at the Big Little Science Centre. Look for permission forms soon.
- Sunday, March 10 we will jump the clocks ahead an hour to Daylight Savings time.
- Friday, March 15 expect a formal report card in your child's backpack. We have also tentatively scheduled a Fresh Air Friday afternoon at the river.
- I have seen you all to go over your child's results for the second term assessment. If you have further questions or concerns please let me know so we can discuss them.
- Mrs. Villeneuve's class will be once again recycling batteries through the Calltorecycle program. If you have batteries at home that you would like to send in I will make sure they get them or you can drop them at the office.
- February sight words are: come, did, have, get, love, of, said, very, will, yes. If a word comes up repeatedly in our studies we will sometimes add it to our words for the month. Please feel free to practice them at home.

It is the time of year when the Kindergarten students are gaining in independence seemingly by the second. They are comfortable around the school and in the school yard, they know our classroom routines and what to expect each day, they follow the parameters set for them and call out those who do not and they often leave parents hanging at the door waiting for a last kiss or good-bye before leaving. To further encourage Team Awesome's burgeoning independence I am encouraging you, their parents and caregivers, to begin saying your morning good-byes at the end of the hall or at the outside door and allowing the children to get themselves organized and into our class on their own. I have no doubts that each one will be successful and come away with an enhanced sense of pride and achievement in their ability to do what they know needs to be done in the mornings.
