According to the USDA, research on the possible causes of bee population decline is currently ongoing and factors include parasites and pests, pathogens, poor nutrition, climate change and sublethal exposure to pesticides. Bees not only pollinate crops humans eat, they also pollinate a wide variety of plants that other animals rely on. If bees became extinct, it would cause a domino effect in terms of ecosystem destruction. If you'd like to do your part to help our friendly neighbourhood bees, plant flower gardens, refrain from using pesticides, and create bee water fountains. Save the bees, save the planet!
