In the second year of the project, the BRBB is a much like a bookmobile that is full of children's books. It will visit some of the schools in Kamloops every week throughout July and August to give out free books, which can be exchanged for new ones when returned. The project is sponsored by the Stollery Foundation and put together through partnerships between School District #73, The Boys and Girls Club, Literacy in Kamloops, and TNRD Library. It was build on the philosophy that if students have access to books, there is a better chance of them reading over the summer, therefore, decreasing the summer reading slide.
The intent of this visit will be to give the students the opportunity to tour the bus. They will not be allowed to take any books home that day but each class will have a 15 minute time slot to see the bus and peruse the books.
